E-Janasampark.net

Summary:

Jana Sampark means linking people. It is one of the several e-governance projects of Chandigarh Administration, which are aimed at extending the application of IT for the benefit of the common people. The E-Samapark was lunched in August 2006 by Chandigarh Administration.

The special targets of the project are the underprivileged citizens, who are without IT connectivity. This practice sets up internet enabled information and facilitation kiosks at different public places to provide them with the information about state government services, private services as well as other Government of India services. From the people friendly information dissemination system, now the citizens of Chandigrah can easily get various information as to government and private services as well s some useful non transactional services without cost. Earlier the citizens had to visit multiple interaction points for these services and waste their valuable time and money. This report finds that though there are some limitations, the practice has enough strength to become a best practice. More>>>
