Haryana to allot projects through e-Tendering
To ensure transparency and to streamline the working of departments of Public Works, Irrigation and Public Health Engineering in Haryana, all projects above Rupees Five lakh will be allotted through e-Tendering.

Chandigarh: In a bid to bring transparency in allotment of projects, all developmental works executed by the Public Works Department, Irrigation and Public Health Engineering Departments in Haryana of above Rs 5 lakh will now be allotted through e-Tendering.

“We have decided to introduce the practice of e-tendering to bring more transparency in the allotment of projects, and to streamline the working of the departments. We will also make arrangements through which status of ongoing projects could also be checked online,” Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said here.

He added, “We have directed the departments concerned  to implement the e-tendering plan at the earliest. It would also keep a tab on unscrupulous elements and add competitiveness in the work allotment process.”

All the works like floating of tenders, applications forms, securitisation of tenders and final selection process will be done online. We are planning to appoint special trained officials for this purpose, he said.

The Haryana government is also planning to impart training to its officials to handle the e-Tendering process more efficiently.

“Our talks are on with leading IT companies and very soon we would shortlist the company that would impart training. Selection of our employees would be done through an aptitude test,” a Haryana government spokesperson said.
