Delhi to form night shelters monitoring team
The Urban Shelter Improvement Board will form a team to monitor the conditions in night shelters focusing on sanitation, water supply and power connectivity in the centres.

The Delhi government has woken up to the problems plaguing the night shelters in the city. Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board has decided to form monitoring teams to take stock of the situation in night shelters.

The decision was taken at a DUSIB meeting on Friday. The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the civil society.

There are 80 temporary and around 25 permanent night shelters in Delhi.

The monitoring teams will focus on the sanitation conditions, quality of water and power availability in the shelters.
The teams will submit their report with Delhi government by January first week.
