Schools for construction workers' children in Delhi
Impressed by similar efforts in Orissa, the Delhi government plans to open schools for the children of construction workers in the city, said Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit at a ceremony in Bhubhaneshwar.

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Sunday said her government would soon open a school for the children of construction workers in the national capital.

Impressed by the efforts of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) in Orissa in imparting education to about 12,000 tribal students at one campus, Dikshit said her government could help the neglected children by setting up a similar school at the national capital.

Dikshit said this to reporters after being conferred the D.Lit degree by the KIIT University at its 6th annual convocation.

Besides Dikshit, the private university conferred honourary Degree of Doctorate to six distinguished personalities from various walks of life.
