E-governance web portal to be set up in Gujarat
Gujarat plans to develop an e-governance portal integrating over 50 citizen-centric services that are transparent, user-friendly and effective in nature.

The Gujarat government would be setting up an e-governance web portal to integrate its citizen centric services developed by various departments, state government spokesperson Jaynarayan Vyas said here today.

"The e-governance portal would integrate over 50 services for the citizens of the state and make its delivery user-friendly," Vyas said.

The portal would also carry information on various services offered by the departments. This would bring all the information and services under a single roof, he added.

"We have set a target to complete the work and make the portal operational by December 30, 2010," Vyas said.

The portal would integrate e-governance service like VATIS (value added tax information system), HMIS (hospital management Information system), E-Dhara (for land records), e-procurements (tendering), IFMS (integrated financial management system, SWAGAT (public grievances portal), and Jan Suvidha Kendra at district collectorates.

"This portal is aimed at making the system more transparent, efficient and interactive," Vyas said.
