India's first geothermal power plant to be set up in Chhattisgarh

The plant would be set up at Tattapani in Balrampur district under a MoU signed between Chhattisgarh Renewable Energy Development Agency and National Thermal Power Corporation. It is expected to start 24 months after project finalisation.

National Disaster Management Authority conducts mock drills for earthquake preparedness

The first mega mock drill on earthquake preparedness in seismic zones IV and V conducted by Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh involved 900 personnel from NDRF in 30 teams, 900 civil defense personnel and 270 independent Army observers.
