NPPP would regulate prices of National List of Essential Medicines 2011 and set up five Jan Aushadhi Generic Drug stores in government hospitals in all districts by end of 12th plan. Currently, 147 such stores spread over 12 states are in operation.

With the objective of including all households under the National Social Assistance Programme by end of 2016-17, the scheme would cover old age, widow and disability pensions. Phase I recommendations would be made effective from 2013-14.
