The project e-Sampark is an initiative of Chandigarh Administration to bring together the basic citizens services of all departments under one roof and give them a ‘single window-experience’.

Prior to its implementation, citizens were spending a lot of time and resources to gather necessary information on the services. The system worked through separate departments making it inefficient, expensive and time consuming. This initiative has brought 11 departments of the administration under the project to provide hassle free and one-stop solution for its citizens. Through e-Sampark centres, citizens can get direct access to various services through trained officers without involvement of any intermediaries thereby improving the efficiency and transparency in the process of service delivery system. E-Sampark experience reveals that use of information and communication technology can facilitate better public service delivery within the existing infrastructure and with limited human resource.
