This initiative has provided Citizen-friendly Civic Centres, which are efficient, speedy and work on a transparent basis between the Municipal Corporation and the citizens thereby rooting out middlemen and corruption to a very large extent in region.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation started this unique ICT application for public service delivery in January 2002 through which Municipal services related to birth and death registration, building plan, primary health and education, city cleanliness, water supply, sewage, road, etc are attended instantly via internet connectivity. The operator processes citizens request and issues necessary license or receipts instantly. It is a ONE SPOT- NON STOP tool for the citizens to facilitate easy transaction with the concerned divisions of the Municipal Corporation and doesnt require any physical movement for payment of fees as they can pay through net/bank/ cyber caf. A 24-hour remote access to AMC transactions / services / information is available on the website www.egovamc.com. This gives an opportunity to the citizens to discuss issues and their grievance relating to the city problems and also to freely interact with each other, the Mayor and the Commissioner.
