The Recruitment Reform in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has standardized the recruitment process in terms of tests and interviews thereby making it more accountable and transparent with limited or no scope of subjectivity.

The Centralized Recruitment Process undertaken by the Kendriya Vidyala Sangathan has established a computerized processing of applications for teachers and non-teaching staff through three stages: written examination for language proficiency and general aptitude, competence assessment of the subject concerned, followed by an Interview. The written exam results are process by an agency, which also then consolidates the interview and written marks to arrive at the final merit list with the help of software developed for the purpose. The third step was of paramount importance as it eliminated the subjectivity and third party pressures, brought transparency, objectivity and efficiency in the system as members of the interview board are allocated through a lottery system in their presence. No member is aware as to which board he/she will be on the next day. At the same time candidates remain ignorant about their allocation to a particular board.
